I'm curious about the same question. I want to go 1400. I am now running a 1600/15T at 2900 HS and bog above ten degrees. I'm thinking about a 1400 w a 17T pinion

i've had about 20 flights on the Venom 3200. Solid head speed. Steady under load. I use them as a 6 min warm up pack before i put in the 6s 2650 45c TP pro power packs.

hai all.. i have question about setting my t500
aim using moto hyperion 1600kv ,hobbywing 80a esc, 2600 mah 35c, 13pinion.
its ok this setting using 80a esc coz my cell like hot than using stock esc 60a.

Flerpie did give me a data sheet for them but I still don't see volt input. Is way to get the info by some formula ???? I know they were trying to help but I need to understand what there doing to get volt input. based of the data sheet from scorpion.

Well with the help of flerpie I did get a sheet with factory recommendations. Scorpion listed the 4020-910 as a 8s to 10s motor. So with that said I have some play room with it.

This is what I'm going with .....
Castle Creations Ice2 80HV
Castle Creations BEC-Pro ( high input volts )
Scorpion 4020-910-5mm
Battery
9s 3-3s 2200 Mah (13T,14T,15T) for head speed tuning (Total battery weight 559g)
8s 2-4s 2650mah (15T,16T,17T) for head speed tuning (Total battery weight 582g)
I will have 5 pinions to do some testing with. I think this is a good starting point.

Yeah..I wish they stated outright what voltage the motor is designed for
instead of just the S rating. I think that's because some folks run Lith-ion
batteries which have a different per cell voltage. It's a small difference
like a volt...so it's no big deal. It's just easier for the motor people to
cover both cell types if they just call it by S rating.

Doin' the math is the only way I know of to come up with how many volts
10S would equal.

Hi, can someone tell me if Venom is a good brand for a charger? I'm new to the hobby and I just purchased this charger below before consulting the knowledge of this forum.

I also bought a Venom 3s 11.1v 5000mah 35c

BTW, this is for my new TREX 450 3gx which I have yet to open

I had a Venom Pro It did a good job. The chargers did have problems with the build in fans about a year ago. Don't know if there still having problems with them or not.
Mine started making noise after about 6 weekends of racing indoors last winter.
I now use a Hi-Tec 4 battery combo charger. You have to get an inverter to run this unit indoors. Nice being able to charge 4 batterys at once. But this charger lowers the charge amps down to 5amp max when charging 4 batterys. Max amp output is 20 amps so you get a 5 amp charge per battery.

3S 5000mAh is far too big for the 450... It won't fit under the canopy and will make the bird too heavy. You should get some 3S 2100mAh instead, even 2600mAh might be pushing it...

Good news, the adapted batteries for the 450 are cheaper than the one you bought.

hey guys. im going 8s on my trex500. I want to run the 1210 with a 13t pinion. I have read where guys say this is a good set up with lots of power. My concern is that scorpion lists this motor as a 6s motor. Do you guys think it will be ok to run 8s on this???

I have a quick question as well! I have a t-rex 500 i am gonna set up for running on 6 cell battery!

Batteries i will be using are pulse ultra 6s 3000mah 45c.

Electric motor i have is the align 500mx.

I have a gaui 100amp esc but will be selling it to buy a castle creations esc!

Im thinking i will go with the 100a esc so that i have governor mode!

What is the best size gear to use on the motor??

And what head speed should i be aiming for to make this heli a 3d monster??

Also this is the 500 esp converted to DFC!

13T pinion should be fine for 2600rpm head speed

i had the older 1600kv motor and 13t pinion. was flying around 3000hs i believe. it flew pretty good. i know there are alot better setups for 6s though. ive just flown that stock setup though the last 5 years. ive beat the crap out of that align motor and esc. the castle 100 should be more than enough. anyone know about the scorpion 1210 on 8s though?
