Default Ttrex 150 or mcpx bl?

Anyone got experience with both? Which is more powerful? Which has better tail? Which is more crash resistant? How are those tiny servo vs linear servos?

Trex 150 DFC on its worst day is better than the Blade BL is on its best day. Canít say the BL is great heli because it just isnít when compared to the 150DFC. If you crash allot and are learning then yes BL is your heli if you are more advanced and crashing less often then the 150DFC is the answer since itís a more precise and consistent flying heli, were the Blade BL is just not in the same class.

The above linked thread is a good one to use for this question. I've owned BOTH of these helis.

What it comes down to is your experience level I suppose. The BL does crash better. It's equally powerful, but less refined and precise. The 150 flies more like a big heli, has a more precise tail, and has a much better FBL unit that is fully customizable, including servo and pitch adjustments...but it doesn't crash as well. The 150 needs some important upgrades out of the box, I feel, whereas the BL is good out of the box.

Personally, if Blade would update the FBL algorithms to improve tail authority (I fully believe it's not a mechanical problem), I would fly it instead of the 150.

I can tell you that the 150 is going to be very popular in the micro world.
Real servos are mostly responsible for its precision flight.

The FBL unit is the best in the micro world.. and its adjustable. Piro stability is awesome.
The rest is all comparable and personal between the two helicopters.

Servos and the 3 axis gyro is why you should at least buy the 150. Perhaps buying both birds.

I have both as well. Pretty much comes down to how often you crash. BL is fun but the 150 is precise. I am selling off my two BLs because I don't like the way they fly anymore. Picking up a another 150. I don't mind repairs just want the best flight possible. I don't crash a lot but I did plant the 150 doing a low rainbow and no damage whatsoever. Got lucky I guess.

If you are learning get the mcpx bl, if you can fly get the better heli.

Great info. Exactly what I wanted to hear. I have experience, and really don't crash unless unless I know I can. Have a mcpx v2 which which for the most part crashes cause I outfly it's capabilities, which isn't hard to do, and isn't a problem, put back on skids and away it goes.. So mentioned was it needs some stuff out of the box.. Like what? Really don't want bling, just let me know any performance improvements, and the costs of them.. Thanks again

As you know
I needed nothing to fly my 150 out of the box. I have a first batch ABS 150.
Recommend Buy
3M Gyro Mounting Pad (3pcs/bag) $1.03
Metal Swashplate w/ Free Frame H15H008XX $21.99

Now
This will set you back an extra $23 but will vastly improve your Align 150 DFC flight performance (greatly minimized frame vibrations and dramatically improved flight performance).

I wonder if this new frame will be available as standard if I wait before purchasing a 150?

That is what I'm expecting. The frame will become the new standard.

Though you will be paying 22.00 for the swashplate alone.

They are throwing in the frame for free until the end of Feb.
