OK. Ready Heli's parts will be shipped tomorrow. I'll also ship those that have been waiting for orders from me. Sorry for the delay. Thanks for your patience!

You guys that have my mounts. Should I be recommending that people put a drop of CA on the threads?

Rick

Rick, my personal opinion is no CA. Screws are so deep and tight. IMHO it is not necessary.

Thanks. How about that they remove any machine oil from the threads?

(Assuming I supply the screws and washers in a bag)
I already cleaned off the machine oil on the ones I have sold to date and started the screws. Future deliveries will come with a small bag of screws and washers.

Anybodies opinion is welcome for both questions.

Rick

Personally RIck, I think they are tight in the Lexan, and I can't really see them coming out, although anything is possible. If you are referring to making an install sheet, to go with the mount, I would include a comment to clean the screws or hardware before installation. Most guys know that, but I have seen alot of noobs coming into this hooby with the 500, so it couldn't hurt to include that statement. Additionally, you could add a line stating for additional security, you could CA the screws.

Now question, how does the CA react with the Lexan ? Like plastic ?

They can be ordered by PMing RDLOHR, or they are on his website for sale.

Or ReadyHeli

Just ordered one from ReadyHeli. Rick, thanks for taking your time to help fabricate these for the community. Can't wait for the delivery.

Yes, thats exactly what I have in mind. I think I will add the following two sentences to the install sheet:
1) Clean any machine oil off the screws before installation
2) For additional security, add a touch of CA when installing the screws (Optional)

I tried the CA on a trashed tray and it worked fine. You only need a minute amount. It doesn't melt lexan. In fact, I use CA when I make my XL mounts to hold the white block on.

Personally, I'm not going to CA mine. Like you guys have said, they are tight.

Thanks Ken, I'm glad to do it. I enjoy making them and especially enjoy seeing them in use. I was losing it when the screws were late but I've ordered enough now that I don't think I'll ever have a problem with that again.

rdlohr,
I didn't get to see all the stuff the one guy was saying that got you worked up and the other folks...something about how easy it would be to make instead of paying you to make one. All I have to say is 16+shipping is CHEAP!! I just made one myself (I had some lexan and access to a mill) I wouldn't make them for that price more work than they seem that's for shure!! I only made my own because I didn't feel like making "real" parts today!! Plus had to get a 2mm tap and drill for tap hole. Does readyheli carry your stabilizer parts? If they do I'll be ordering a set next time I place an order with them.

LOL. I've made enough now that I can make them fairly efficiently but like you say, for someone to make just one they would be better off buying it.

I sell the fins from my website.

Which "real" parts do you make?

Rick

Default Threats not OK!

Someone just pointed out to me that Rennster deleted his earlier posts and put in for a reason that he was "Threatened". I've heard nothing about anyone threatening him in any way but I would prefer that noone does that. He has a right to his opinion just as much as anyone else has the right to disagree with him.

We sell and rebuild printing press's. narrow web flexo. Mainly the Comco line but will work on other stuff as well. BTW I paid 13.00 alone for a good M2 tap!
I just meant about the real parts thing is I understand that some of the Lexan work you do you still refure to as a hobby.Don't you have something to do with RC Boats as well?

Yes, its all a hobby. I took it as you meant it. I was interested in what you make. Since I have been making up jigs for my stuff I always like to hear how others have done things. There is always something to learn.

I had an RC boat that I got in trade for an early heli but I sold it. It was pretty cool but its hard to beat a heli!

RC war ships sounds cool but I'm not guilty of that one.

I'll make you up some fins whenever you are ready. Take your time.
