I have had mine for a while now and I love her!!! Great heli but you have to be mindfull of the build. There have been some problems with getting the linkages setup to the right length but the link here should help you http://www.heliguy.com/Forum/esky-e-...ual-t5228.html. Several things to note though. The thrust bearings in the blade grips and tail rotor blades come assembled but ARE NOT lubed. Grease the head dampners when you tear down the blade grips to lube the thrust bearings to keep vibrations down. Second, check for slop in the upper bearing block. There have been problems with the screws being too long and the bearing being able to move around resulting in a vibration in the head. All I can think of right now so happy building and flying.

I also picked up a E smart metal edition with motor on E bay yesterday from Heli Direct.. I'm looking forward to the build. I think I'll go the Align route as far as the electronics. Whats your plan as far as batteries? Thanks Mike

Me? I am using the same as I do in the B400. 2 sets of 2 wired in parallel and then series those connections.

I am using ZIPPYS 6SP1 5000mah from Hobby City Online store. They fit the Esmart very well and allow you to move them around for a good CG. They cost about $130 + shipping. The best price so far that I have found on lipos this large. I used the Align ESC and voltage regulator as well as their 1900 mah 2 cell lipo for the reciever. I am using the stock rate gyro that came with my HBK2 and I have not had any problems with the gyro or the tail control. Yes, I will be upgrading it to a Futaba here soon.

I also use the zippy packs from hobby city(2) and I do not see any performance difference between the zippy's and the the TP extreme V2's. one thng with these high power batts though they wear the motor bearings out faster than using 5S. I have replaced the esky motor bearings with high speed ABEC 3 bearings from boca bearings and the motor now rocked harder than before. motor bearing size is 5X13X4. The e-smart and the trex 600 share the batteries.

still chugging along......last night I finally got the esc programmed, now I need to mount the electronics, give her some power and adjust the links/level the swash. Then I will double check the gear mesh is right on and go over all the metal to metal screws w/loctite before I maiden it. I'm hoping that will happen this weekend.

Well I hooked up the electronics last night and fired her up with the motor dis-engaged OMG this thing is intimadating!

Addiction, yeah got cx2 in october and since then I have a CP Pro, Honey Bee FP, Honey Bee FP (brushless), B400, and E-smart 600. I gotta stop there though, now I just need to learn to fly them LOL

Anyways, all I really got left is to dial in all the linkages and get the swash level and I will maiden her. But I'm not rushing it, I have to have play time for the 400 too and that usually means fixing or modding something on it too LOL

I've been thinking about scoring a bigger machine like this... It's generally windy here most days and a larger bird would prove useful.

Where are people ordering this puppy from? And which of the seemingly 10000000 versions?

Yup more more more hey wait I am still learning LOL

total including kit - I have about 6-700 invested in it.

Batteries - did you see my post in the 400 forum, I have a TON of batts for the 400 was stocking up to run 4 of the 400 batts in this bird 2 sets of 2 in parallel to double mah and take those 2 leads and run them in series doubles voltage.

+ if a cell goes bad, I replace a 40 dollar battery no big deal - and I dont have to upgrade my charger

- One flight kills 4 batts, but I have a lot and gonna get more too and I have 3 chargers not including the stock chargers
