Thread Lock

OK, here's another one of those stupid newbie questions. So please note my user name and be kind. I just purchase an E-Sky Belt CP and have my maiden voyage (crash). Happily I sustained minimal damage. However, I noticed in the E-Sky manual that it indicates to use "glue" on the set screws of the linkage conections. OK, what kind of glue are they talking about? I assumed it was a form of thread lock (lock tight). But all the packages I found at the hardware store indicated it was for 1/4" screws and larger and not recomended for plastic. Now I was also wondering about some of the other mounting and adjusting screws like the main blade holding screws. Should they be thread locked so they don't come loose in flight (should i ever get off the ground again)? In any case what is the best thread lock for the set screws and/or other things that should be thread locked? Thanks, dumbass

You really don't need any "glue" for screws that go into plastic. If they've stripped, it's best to replace the part. If that's not an option, you could use a drop - ONE DROP - of CA on the screw into plastic, but that'd be iffy at best.

Threadlock should be used on all screws that thread into metal. Use BLUE threadlock - Loctite or Prime Lok are good brands. Dont use red threadlock - that's a permanent adhesive. The blue can be removed with a bit of force.

I use a drop of Prime Lok 245 blue and haven't had a screw come out yet.

Take excessive care that no threadlock seeps into any bearings you may be near. That would not be conducive to successful helicopter flight.

As far as threadlocking blade bolts - nah. You should check and adjust those for every flight anyway. It's unlikely they will come loose during a single battery pack's worth of flight.

And now if only our friends at X-Heli pull their heads out of their a_ _ and get my parts order straightened out and delivered I'll be able to get back in the air.

It's hard to believe anyone could screw up an order as bad as they can. Does anyone know if they normally are suc screw ups?
