Default Phazor 600 build thread.

Here's my build thread on the Phazor 600. We'll be starting out on 8S with the Neu 1910/1Y/H motor, HV-85 ESC. This may take a few days as this is my busy season with work.

Here's what comes in the box, everything was packed very well with no damage.

A few extras for the build including Aluminum head, On Edge Dampers, a couple of drive kits for both the 1907 and 1910 motor, and a speed up tail pulley.

Next a few shots of all the individual bags out on the table.

Forgot to add, The manual comes on a CD and includes data for the 1907, 1910 and Plettenberg 760 kv motor . Also included on the CD are set up videos from Finless on the HV-85.

Glad to see some Phazors out there .You guy's are going to love it.I've got over 30 flights on mine so far.
I've been thinking on how i can improve it ,But it's already more heli then I can fly to the limit.I'm actually thinking of putting the stk paddles back on to slow the cyclic down a bit.
i put the metal grips on about 15 flights back,Just because i had already purchased them with the kit, It flew great with out them.

Last night we went through the head checking thread locker and installing the fiberglass 15 gram paddles. (Sorry, no pictures of this yet)

Tonight we built the frames, the only thing that we did differently from the instructions was to use a vice and a block of wood to install the blind nuts into the CF frame. Everything was very easy to do, no problems at all. Here are a few shots during and after frame assembly. The blue aluminum cap screws look nice and are very sturdy.

Frames with blind nuts installed and tail guide pulleys installed.

Front and rear frames assembled, with main bearing blocks. Nice machine work on the bearing blocks.

Battery tray and lower frames installed.

Bearing blocks, 1 pinion block and anti-rotation bracket.

Frame with tail blocks and servo mount installed.

this is a great kit, i was talking with David yesterday, the price is unreal for the combo deal, for the price of the batt's speed controller motor you get the whole kit and any of the raptor scale body's will fit very nice.

The frames look like they are built like a tank!

Fell a bit behind on the thread...too much going on for my own good!

Everything went together really well, took some time to get the linkages just right, but it paid off with no trim required on the first flight! None! Took only 2 flights to get everything dialed in, I'm sure we'll do some tweaking along the way.

The set up:

Phazor CF version
Metal Head
15 gram paddles
8 tooth gear on tail
Neu 1910/1Y/H
HV-85 ESC
AR 7000 rx
FlightTech Regulator
FlightPower 2S2P 1600 ma rx pack
611 Gyro
JR 8417 Servos

13 Degrees pitch
8 degrees of cyclic
2200 head speed
4 Minute flight time
Motor Temp 113 degrees
Batt Temp 133 degrees
ESC Temp 89 degrees

Flying weight 8lbs 3 oz

That was the shortest build thread I've ever seen. I think it's missing a few pictures and notes.

Regarding the build time...IMHO the Phazor actually goes together pretty quickly. The frame design is really straight forward after you get a feel where everything goes. For that matter, Finless Bob said that he put his frame together AND shot his video all in one evening.

Don't feel to bad Alan.
I do the same thing every time I try to do a build thread.
All of a sudden I get into the zone and the next thing I know its done and I have no step by step pics of the second half.

This helicopter is performing very well. A friend of ours flew it this afternoon and said that it felt more like a 90 size competition machine. Good job David!

Yep... the set of videos that are currently up (the frame, motor, and drive system) was all shot in ONE DAY. This includes editing and compression time for the videos!

If I was not videoing this build I probably could have had the frames together in an hour easily!

Thats about how long it took me to assemble my frames.I had the whole heli done and ready to fly in 1 day.and i had time to get a dozen flights in to boot that day.
