go back down to 10 tooth. i fly with a 10 tooth doind mild 3D and the stock XL motor gets hot. i wont even try 11t being afrain that it will over work/heat my system.

I agree with eightythree. I have the stock L motor running on 10t. My headspeed at hover is 1800 in Normal mode. I fly basic aerobatics and mild 3D (flips, etc) with no power problems and nothing gets very hot. Just watch your collective use.

I also agree for the the type of flying you're doing a 10 tooth is plenty, i run a throttle curve
in normal of 0, 35, 80, 90, 100, my idle up back then was just 100, acrossed the bored.
now I'm running an 11 tooth pinion with the 1700 KV XL motor and the idle up throttle
curve is 92 acrossed the board. it doesn't bog and plenty of power, motor temp
  • after 3D is 135 deg F. and 6S 5000 mah battery around 126-129 deg F. you have to make sure the motor gets oild once in a while.
