DX7.
You may need that 7th channel for bigger nitros if you choose to go that way.

Are you every going to fly nitro? Get the DX7.

Do you think you will need more than 10 memories? Get the DX7

Do you think you will need more than basic mixes? Get the DX7.

Both are good radios.

Compare specs, see what is important to you, and pick the one that fits best.

Or, just get a DX9II (X9303) and have an amazing radio.

The general rule-of-thumb for R/C pilots is "Get the best radio you can afford". Buy it right the first time, or buy twice.

You can always sell it, and get most of your money back if you decide you don't like it.

With Nitros definitely the DX7 over the DX6i.
Like Pinecone said you may want to look into the DX9II (X9303)

+1

And that's why I started in real helis with a XP9303 and switched to an X9303. More features than I use now, but they are there when I need them without the pain of redoing the setup on all the models.

X9303 - 30 model memories, Airplane/Heli/Glider programming, better graphics, 140 degree CCPM, more mixes, just feels better.

But you might later.

As has been said many times. Buy the BEST Tx you can afford. It is the one part that you will use over many helis and airplanes. Better to have functions that you don't use than to NEED a function and not have it. And have to buy a new radio to get it.
