Default New speed control?

I smoked my speed control today doing 3D in a tree so I am in the market for a new one. Question is, which one? Who makes one that is a good fit for the stock motor or should I just replace the whole shootin match with a Scorpion something or another. And if so...which control and motor?

iv been looking in to to the Castle esc 35A

have seen this motor in combo with a 25c batt and the ESC lots of power gain
example of what an 35 ecs does with the current motor
not sure if this will reduce the life of this motor

The cc35 is a great ESC and will give you a lot of growth and the ability to fine tune your blade . I have alway been happy with them .

But remember when checking into pricing that its almost a must that you also pick up the usb interface plug which will allow you to change the settings and update the firmware when updates are available

That is what worries me. I have a Mac and I don't know if these updates are done from a website or they are from a program that won't run on a Mac.

I have a MacBook Pro. Running XP in Bootcamp allows me to use USB devices and software written for the PC.

It is also how I run Phoenix which uses a USB dongle to connect my transmitter to the Mac to operate the sim.

And also G4 and it's USB connected controller.

OK so I guess it is going to be the CC35. I got the computer thing figured out, I'll just use my girlfriends PC. I had Windows on my Mac before but Bootcamp was a pain in the kiester. So now comes the million dollar question, do I need to get a BEC to go with it?

Thanks for all the help guys. I guess I will just have to put off my next heli purchase another month or so as I put more cash in the Blade.

Sorry you found Bootcamp a pain, I found it easier to use and maintain than a PC using XP but, I work on PCs, servers and network for a living so we all have different backgrounds from which to approach these problems.

You do not need a BEC, there is one on the CC 35. There are many more FETs on the CC 35 than on the E-Flight ESC so there is no need for a heat sink and no worries about using the onboard BEC. Makes for a nice clean installation, one device.
