Ah yessss!

You've come to the rescue of my failing memory again....

Guys had both types of models and yes the DSM mode uses a bunch more battery power than the DSM2 resulting in a lower tx battery voltage showing. Not sure if that's the OP's problem, but that is the one I was thinking about.
