I'm not really sure they are on the wrong side, they just are not on the side typically seen in the US. Someone else can chime in if I'm wrong but this really only would be a problem if you let a friend fly your heli who doesn't know the switches.
not sure if anyone has any specifics on why a throttle hold on the left would be an issue.
