I've heard of very few pilots who get disallusioned over the heli sport if they first used a sim.
I've been practicing with a couple of simulators. Years ago it helped me tremendously as I was learning airplanes but helicopters is a whole new ball of wax. You can't get up in the air and just forget about that rudder stick. What concerns me though, is how complicated it can be setting up the radio and if I purchase a BNF I'll have to figure that out . . . if I can.
