I totally understand the wanting to stay casual, and not wanting to join a club. Going bigger than a 450 really is a whole other level of commitment.

Also, for what it's worth I prefer to call the 450X a "325 class" heli. I want to do my part to kill the perpetuation of labeling helis by their electric motor size. Blade size is so much more accurate and universal.

If you wanted to stay at that size, there are several really great machines in that class with more on the way. This is a great time to be into the 350 helis.

Once you are good and comfortable with fixing your 450x, I would certainly encourage you to build a kit 350 in which you can select all of your components and put it together yourself. IMO, there is a great feeling that comes with building and then flying something you made.
