The default setting is best starting point.Perfectly adequate with a new OEM pack. As a pack ages it may fall off faster at lower end of its discharge.I have seen a couple cases with non OEM packs where the voltage cutoff level wasnt quite where it should be.
Its possible it may no longer give as much time between warning and shut off.
It doesnt hurt to bump the alarm voltage up a couple tenths to give a little more margin.The amount of flight time you might lose going to 6.6 instead of 6.4 is hardly worth noting. Below 6.8-7 volts they are done pretty fast anyway.
