oh dear that's unfortunate. One thing I do to save canopy's is to put cellotape on the inside of the canopy. It stops them tearing apart. Ok it ads a little bit of weight but it definitely lengthens the life of the canopy. As for the rest grips and tail booms are par for the course. I now use the knitting needles as they are half the price of factory tail booms.
