The DXe does have a very obvious battery warning. The power light turns red and fades brighter and darker, and it beeps.
By default, it is set up for AA batteries. If you install the lipo pack, you NEED to reprogram the DXe to the correct battery type with the software and programming cable in order for the different voltage warning to take effect.
