Not without a firmware update.
The SPM4651T uses SRXL2 communication protocol only. Microbeast firmware version 5.2.4 introduced compatibility with SRXL2.

Looking at the diagram of the polarity change, you only do it to the end which goes into the beast, is that correct?

Technically it doesn’t matter which end of the cable you change, so long as the connections are correct at both ends.

Also it looks like all 4 wires are in the wrong position? from left to right it is orange, black, grey & brown?

Reorder the individual wires as needed in the end connectors so the pins at the SPM4651T match the correct ones at the Microbeast.
Normally the colors are assigned as follows:
Orange (yellow) = data
Red = positive DC
Black (brown) = negative DC
The grey wire found on the oem cable isn’t used and isn’t needed. Keep it or remove it to save weight.
The correct connector for the side pin board of the Microbeast Plus is a
6-pin JST-ZH with 1.5mm pin spacing.
