Just wanted to show a weird wobble after a minor crash, probably due to a malfunctioning aileron servo. Apologies for the vid quality. Just start watching from 20 seconds onwards.

  • HP08-1S motor with 20T pinion gear
  • OS 500 mAh 20C Lipo
  • Plastic 4G3 swashplate
  • Dkfuji CNC FBL head
  • Balanced stock foamies with vinyl taped ends
  • Titanium tail servo rod
  • Microheli tail cage and tail slider
  • Mechanics: main shaft completely true, FBL CNC head completely true, servo horns at 90degrees, swashplate level without slop, new interlinks, new feather bar, replaced main blades, but no change in wobble.
  • Gyro: Turning down ail gyro removed the wobble, but also removed any stabilizing of course.
  • Gyro: Turning down Bal delay also helped a bit, and also removed any stabilizing.
  • Servos: individual inspection of all gyros did not show anything wrong. Especially the ail servo seemed to function quite well.
  • Replaced the ail servo and elev servo one by one, and flew her again. The wobble disappeared after replacing the ail servo.
  • Looks to me that a minor problem in a cyclic servo can cause some weird interaction with the 3-axis gyro, creating the weird wobble.
  • Replacing the servo made the wobble disappear.
