First flights with CP Pro 2

After a couple quick test hops in the basement, one of which ended with broken blades from landing a little too close to the couch, this weekend was the maiden flights of the CP Pro 2 outside. I had picked up the plastic flat bottom blades to replace the broken blades, as 3D is quite a ways off if at all.

First battery was uneventful. Mostly just testing the trim & gyro settings... the tail is still a bit twitchy, even with gain down to about 91%.

Popped in the second battery, gain is helping twitchy tail. This is the front yard at our weekend house, so there is a small space besides the trees. Started trying a little movement with the hover... this bird really likes to move! Got a little close to one of the trees, so started flying it backwards toward me & hit a wayward branch.... loud thwap! Take a look at the bird & the blade grip has snapped where it attaches to the mixer arm. The plastic blades held up very well. A couple dings in them, but otherwise, they last forever. $10 to replace the blade grip part, so not a bad first crash.

Overall, it was rather responsive & relatively easy to fly. Just need a larger space than a 20x20 lawn with trees surrounding it.

I've been replacing all my busted head components with the aluminum equivalents. The stock blade grips are asininely weak at the spindle, but the aluminum grips are so freggin rigid every time the blades have an untimely end, the swash plate shucks all the linkage.

The tail rotor only lasts about 10 charges performing under the bossy heading lock gyro. I'd back the gyro off to 50%
