Well, April is quickly leaving us! Just over one week left and…

Ok as a re-cap… My Synergy N7 had several issues I have finally worked out! (fan hub, foam tape on the VX1n, and the O.S. carb problems) The O.S.105HZ-R problem is finally gone; however, the motor is no longer a pumped motor, just an O.S.105HZ. I tried almost every combination with the pumped motor version and couldn’t get it tuned right; it was close…but never there. I tried using the carb from a blown up O.S.91HZ motor before giving in and buying a new motor for the N7, or ordering a non-pumped carb, or just dealing with it.

As it turned out, the O.S.91HZ carb works fantastic! The idle needle is opened on the rich side quite a bit. It idles/purrs like a…Swiss watch (cat! LoL! A line borrowed from the movie Down Periscope and Back to the Future). The mid is close to 1 turn out (about 1-1/8 to 1-1/4), and the high is now 1-5/8 turns out.

The motor runs on the warm side, about 7 seconds before needing to remove your finger! So I’ll leave it there for a while, I’ll let the motor get used to this setting.

This last weekend!…

Sunday was scheduled for rain all day...however, shortly after I was up, the sun came out! I called Mark, but no response. So I did some house chores, and headed for the shower. I called Mark again and this time he answered. I said "let's go flying!" He came up with some really good excuses...fixing clutch issues, mounting magnets on the G4 canopy versus ripping rubber grommets, etc. You know...fleet maintenance stuff.

“Yea, yea, still have your new Goblin gasser!” I wasn't planning on letting him weasel out of a partially good day to go flying! So off to the school we go. I brought 3 of my nitro helis that needed wringing out...checking for fixing issues! The first Rave. The last flight, it started displaying loss of control in maneuvers. It was like it had a mind of its own. Turns out it was the foam tape. I replaced it with the 3M gray tape...problem solved!

Mark asked me to go through his Gobby as he moved the setting from his DX8 to the DX9 radio. Everything looked ok, but now to see if it was flight worthy! As it turned out, yes, it fly’s, but not as well as when it was on the DX8. This is ok it’s just radio adjusting/fine tuning. His Gobby flew just fine as I gave it a short workout, just to wring it out some…and to explain how it was going to feel for Mark.

So now the Rave is flying great. As for the N7, it is now one rockin heli! However, the two flights I did get on the N7…I ran it out of fuel both times. I was having that much fun! Oh and not to worry, the Rave gets its fair share of running dry! LoL! Good thing I know how to auto from any position! Something I’ve been teaching Mark to do.

I didn’t get the chance to try out the Mostro as the rains were finally moving in. It started sprinkling while Mark was flying, so we packed up and headed for home.  Wouldn’t you know, I finally got two helis flying well and now I can’t fly them for a few/several days due to the weather??? Ok…bummed.

The second Goblin gasser flies a whole lot better, but it needs some major tuning! I believe it has less the 4 flights on it, so I didn’t even set the countdown timer. It’s a bit sluggish.

The first Goblin gasser, I’ve yet to touch it…replacing the one main blade link. Yea, I know, very easy, simple, and fast…I was concentrating on the nitro helis first.

All-in-all, thing are finally looking up! Time to go out and fly!
