Happy New Year!!! Yea, I know, a little late! But on the up side, winter is almost over for us!

Yea, Christmas was here and now gone. It’s been awhile since my last post here, but nothing new to report. Mark lost his mother Dec.22 and it has been very hard for him. I haven’t seen him since the last time we flew at church. Of course that day it was snowing to beat the band and there was a thick layer of slush on the ground. This winter has been different for us, heavy snow to start, and then 95% of it is gone! We have had rain the last few weeks which melted most of the visible snow piles.

We finally made to the gym at church this last Sunday. We had a blast buzzing around the gym getting back into the swing of things. No trashed helis this time which is unusual for us, but welcomed.

My Whiplash Nitro…

Yea, well…I haven’t done anything yet.

My N7

Everything is working great…however, now it is time to change the main bearing in the motor. It starting to sound like the muffler is coming loose. I might have one of those ever-glide bearings installed in it?

N7 #2

Just needs tuning and lots more flying!

My Whiplash gasser

I have a Zimmerman pipe for it, but I haven’t done anything more than look at it. I did notice it didn’t come with the two bolts to mount the header to the motor, so I’ll need to buy some. They are a lot longer than the ones I have in stock. However…I might have my Whippy sold to a gentleman desperately looking for a version 1. I can hold out for the version 2 to come out. So this will give me the ability to start out fresh. I would like to run the V2 through its paces and see how it feels with all the upgrades.

There is a fun fly that I would like to addend…the Heli Spring Fling in Virginia. I should have my new V2 up and flying by then. It will be a good time to put some serious flights on it.

After thoughts…

I haven’t done a whole lot to my workshop or any of my helis as far as that goes. I’ve been a bit lazy in the hobby, plus back to working 10 hour days. I shifted my focus on exercising and eating, for the time being. With the short day light, but getting longer, and the long working hours, I don’t have a lot of extra time to play like I want to.

My micro helis are doing great so far. My modified mCPx heli has a tail blowout issue. I’m not sure if it is the control board or the tail motor. I’ll look into that later…

Until next time…
