Another month (February) almost in the books, and what a month it has been for us!

This winter has been strange to say the least. It started out like a normal winter, rain and then snow and lots of it to start… But then the weather became warm and melted the snow base and it rained and rained. This month, February, has been very warm here in the Midwest. This last weekend, Mark and I went outdoors to fly…and without jackets! The highs were 65 degrees, sunny skies, with a light breeze. Today it will be 70 degrees!!! : With all this warmer weather so early in the year, I not sure how our summer will be…hot, hot and humid, rainy, bugs galore?

It felt strange flying outside and without a radio glove or jackets, and Mark and I looked like a couple of beginners! LoL! It has been a couple of months since I touched my Jeti DS-16, and the sticks felt weird…small in diameter, need to replace those. It wasn’t until the second flight of the day that everything came back, and we were back to our old routines. However, Mark has made some major improvements with nose-in hovering.

My Whiplash Nitro…

I flew my whippy Sunday only to discover it still has problems…

My N7

The main bearing in the O.S.105 decided to take a dump, so now I need to replace it…period.

N7 #2

I put many flights on this heli over the weekend, and I had one mishap with it. Bill wanted to know if I could auto nose in as he was practicing nose-in hovering. I said yes I can and did. However, I managed to touch the tail a bit hard and snapped the tail control bellcrank…oops! I didn’t hit that hard, so I thought. It might have been weak to begin with. No biggie, I have a couple spares.

My Whiplash gasser

Well…my Whiplash gasser was sent back to me. The buyer wasn’t pleased with it, so I started re-installing the electronics, but I’m in no hurry as I’m waiting for the version 2 Whippy to come out.

So I wait......................

After thoughts…

I had brought my Agile 7.2 gasser to fly Sunday, but I left the DX9 radio home! The one heli I haven’t moved over to my Jeti DS-16. Ok, I shall fix that!!!

I’m still pondering what to do with the stereo system in my truck…so many speakers to choice from! I found a pair of Alpine separate door speakers that I like, but I haven’t a clue to what they sound like…I could try them…

Until next time…
