Well, here's to a new year of flying and other stuff!

I finally found a couple of HP 1200 power supplies to complete my charging station project. I bought them through Amazon, of all places. I started looking over this project trying to determine the lay-out of everything. I'll include a parts list later on...

So far, both supplies will be placed on both sides of the Cellar Dual PowerLab (8x2) charger, the power lab being in the center of the case. I tried several combinations, but the depth of the case is a bit short, so the Power Lab needs to be in the center and as close to the back of the case. The other problem for finding a spot for the Power Lab, was clearance for the two MPA-XH Parallel boards. The design of the Power Lab charger has a molded in lift in the case, raising the back of the charger so you can see the display better. This creates a bit of a problem with trying to "hide" the charger in some type of case. So it needs to be placed in the middle and back of the case to allow room for the charge boards...2 of them! However, the Cellar Dual PowerLab (8x2) charger has been discontinued...go figure!

Sitting in the middle up front (just below the two charge boards) is the Bump Controller, hence the reason for hiding the Power Lab charger. I also plan to add a Tablet to the lid so I can see the charging status. Also, a USB jack to charge anything needed (Cell Phone, etc.), a power meter to monitor the 2 power supplies (voltage, current, wattage), and some banana jacks to run other chargers...XP10 charger. And some type of pouch to hold all the extra things...might need to fabricate something, a leather pouch? This case will have a couple of LED lighted fans for cooling and possibly an LED strip across the back of the top where the letters were CNC out. Yea, I'll need to provide pictures so you can see what I'm talking about.

Right now I'm in the lay-out stage. Trying to figure out where stuff will be, and what wiring will be needed. I think I have everything needed, for the exception of nuts and bolts...

i haven't done any flying as of yet. My back is better, healing faster than the doctors expected, but our weather isn't al that good right now. We are getting close to the zero degree mark this month, and I just don't care to be freezing by butt off, so I build stuff! I am waiting for RCJapan to get a shipment of YS61 motors in so I can finish building my Fury 55. That will be closer to spring time. The other hurtle will be finding a source for nitro fuel, as the prices have skyrocketed...that sucks!

So until next time...
