Time to Change Gears

Posted 10-28-2008 at 10:19 AM by skigolfmike

The days are getting much shorter and the weather is cold and windy. Not as many good days left to fly. No doubt there will be good days here and there, but, for the most part, flying outdoors around here is winding down.

So, time to get the indoor stuff ready. Actually, heli wise, I don't have that much to do. The Gaui 200 is ready and waiting to go. I can throw the Blade 400 back together in an evening. The biggest remaining task is building a couple foamies. Fortunately,...

Now to Get Everything Flying Again

Posted 10-22-2008 at 09:07 AM by skigolfmike

I still am amazed at how well the 500 flies. The bird is so responsive and stable. For basic circuit flying like I do the Align 6S batteries last sooo long. I set my timer for 7:30 and never come close to 80% battery burn.

This time of year in the NW the mornings can be cool (40s and 50s) and the wind is usually dead calm until about lunchtime. For me that is about perfect flying weather.

I...

Dang - I've Been Busy Lately

Posted 10-15-2008 at 08:57 AM by skigolfmike

This last week I repaired the Furion tail, got the new batteries for the Gaui 550 and finished the build on the Trex600 Nitro Pro. Between work, running the kids around and family stuff, I'm averaging about 5 hours sleep a night. But, hey, I'm having fun.

The T600N got the servos off the Gaui 550, the Gaui got the servos that cam with the T600N combo, plus the 3700mAh batteries came in for the 550 and the Furion got a tail hub pre built from MA.

The 3700s on the Gaui...
