April showers brings…yea well, April is almost done!

Sygnergy G696Z…

Another outing! Snuck out before the rain comes...again. Cold to start at 9:30 am, but warmed up nicely, and then the overcast clouds moved in! It started to sprinkle, so I left.

In the meantime, I managed 4 flights this time. Slowly checking out this new conversion. I found (or I think I have) the setting in the Spartan controller for the tail stop control. It has CW/CCW stop...

Here we are in April...and old man winter is trying to hang on! Go away dude!

Synergy G696Z

I made it out yesterday (Friday), putting in another 2 flights! The weather was nice enough to get out. 40 degrees, with big puffy clouds and sunshine, 10+ mph out of the Northwest...burrrrr! This time I brought my radio glove. It felt weird at first, but I got over it. The first flight granted me 12 minutes. The second flight, with a little carb tuning, gained 2 more minutes,...

March, almost finished…this time!

Sygnergy G696Z…

I pulled the motor to inspect the clutch. My thought was the shoes was too tight/sticking. Well, it was somewhat, and that was an easy fix...but not the main problem. It was the one way in the main gear. So I need to pull the main gear out and see why the one way is backwards. Either I did this while reassembling the gear, after Loctiting everything, not paying attention, or the one way is simply installed...

[bMarch, and the build continues…[/b]

Sygnergy G696Z…

I installed the main blades and zero’d them. I moved through the programming finishing the swashplate menu. I finalized the wiring (took a little longer than I thought), and made up a power wire for the LiPo pack to run from the front to the back.

I started in with the canopy, making sure it would fit properly, and with my wiring placement. The front canopy pins were not out (spacing...

February/March, and the build continues…

Sygnergy G696Z…

I installed the throttle and tail servo. Found an old spare linkage that would work for the throttle. I setup a new profile in my Jeti radio, bound it to the REX 7 EX receiver, and bound that to the Spartan VX1n controller. Set up a couple of screens (receiver type, transmitter, etc.), and then went to the swashplate menu. Pull out 3 round Futaba servo horns from my stash, over the many years flying, and...
