MSH Protos is coming!

Posted 03-05-2009 at 07:09 PM by ted_wears_a_hat (The Trials & Tribulations of a Learner)

Well, FLP had a deal on them, my lovely other half agreed and I wanted to reward myself for my progress I pushed the purchase button on an MSH Protos today alongside another DS760 Sport (upgradeablefor free at the moment as a UK'er) to use as a gyro. The rest of the electronics will be bought bit by bit over the spring hopefully for a summer maiden.

Staying DSM2 for the RX and SportBEC for the BEC but I'm as yet undecided on ESC and servos...

[Slow] build...

First Nose-In Hover

Flew five packs today and managed my first sustained nose in hover in real life. It felt like being right back at the beginning again when you get that rush when finally you know you control it rather than the other way round.

I am really happy.

Heli is running nicely and I am slowly getting it. Today was a good day!

Orientation Training #8

Slope soaring with the Blade 400.

5 m/s wind really adds to the 'realism', particularly if you live in the UK. The virtual flying field in the vid could be any number of hilltops close by.

Shame Youtube ate the quality of this one.

Slightly better Vimeo version:
