"The Grass Is Brown Everywhere"

Year's ago I took a job in Texas and when I started work I discovered that I had been "sold" on the job as much as I had been selling myself to the company.

After 2 weeks of discovering how this new job was even worse than my previous one, I returned to the former job (with a big pay increase) and coined the phrase "The Grass Is Brown Everywhere" to explain why I returned.

The acronym TGIBE became my username on many forums and accounts over the years...

Focusing on the TRex 450

Posted 02-27-2008 at 11:54 AM by TGibe

After much thought I have decided to wait until the summer to purchase a TRex 500. I am really only beginning to learn how to fly the 450SEV2 I built in January and feel like I need to get more stick time on it before moving on to another purchase.

Of course, I may change my mind if I feel the small issues with the 500 get worked out before then, but it really is the best move for me right now.

I will just keep the cash set aside for the 500 purchase once I have built up some more skills. In the mean time I will go ahead and invest in a better charger (capable of handling 6S packs) and will probably purchase a couple of EVOlite 3S 2500s and fly them in the 450.

I found myself getting pretty nervous about moving so fast towards another purchase and once I made the decision to wait a little while I felt a huge burden lifted.

Don't get me wrong - the TRex 500 is the heli for me going forward. I just want to make sure I give the 450 the attention it deserves before it gets put on the bench in favor of the 500
