"The Grass Is Brown Everywhere"

Year's ago I took a job in Texas and when I started work I discovered that I had been "sold" on the job as much as I had been selling myself to the company.

After 2 weeks of discovering how this new job was even worse than my previous one, I returned to the former job (with a big pay increase) and coined the phrase "The Grass Is Brown Everywhere" to explain why I returned.

The acronym TGIBE became my username on many forums and accounts over the years...

Free Shipping?

Posted 04-19-2008 at 02:08 PM by TGibe

I just thought I would put this out there as lately free shipping is costing me more than the parts I need.

Here is how it works for me:

-I need a part (usually I just want a part, but that is a different issue altogether).
-The part is usually under $40.00, but I know that if I order $100 worth of stuff the shipping is free (instead of $4.60)
-Wanting to get free shipping I spend 20-30 minutes on the vendors site looking for items to add to my order to get it to $100.
-Eventually I get to $100, or usually more like $125 or so and place my order.
-I end up with extra parts or bling that I really didn't need anyway.

Sooo the free shipping on a $40.00 item ends up costing me $60-$70!?!?!?

Marketing people are very smart indeed
