"The Grass Is Brown Everywhere"

Year's ago I took a job in Texas and when I started work I discovered that I had been "sold" on the job as much as I had been selling myself to the company.

After 2 weeks of discovering how this new job was even worse than my previous one, I returned to the former job (with a big pay increase) and coined the phrase "The Grass Is Brown Everywhere" to explain why I returned.

The acronym TGIBE became my username on many forums and accounts over the years...

500 Build Part IV

Posted 04-23-2008 at 10:00 PM by TGibe

Today I was able to work on my 500 for a couple of hours. Golf season has really hit full speed and with 2-3 rounds of golf eating up 10-15 hours a week I am finding it harder and harder to complete the build. I will admit that I am a little torn as I play golf I tend to think of the heli...

Anyway, today I was able to accomplish the following:
  • Determined the final location for all of the electronics (RX, Gyro, ESC, Lipo alarm, buzzer, Eagletree V3, Eagletree LCD display panel, Eagletree brushless motor sensor)
  • Covered the cyclic servo cables with black braiding with heatshrink on each end.
  • Mounted the ESC and added about 2 inch pigtails to the stock power cabling.
  • Mounted the Eagletree after drilling a couple of holes for tywraps.
  • Put heatshrink on the Eagletree LCD panel wiring bundle for looks.
It may not sound like a lot, but the devil is in the details. Tomorrow is another golf day and then I have to spend some time with the family before golf on the weekend...

Cheers,
