"The Grass Is Brown Everywhere"

Year's ago I took a job in Texas and when I started work I discovered that I had been "sold" on the job as much as I had been selling myself to the company.

After 2 weeks of discovering how this new job was even worse than my previous one, I returned to the former job (with a big pay increase) and coined the phrase "The Grass Is Brown Everywhere" to explain why I returned.

The acronym TGIBE became my username on many forums and accounts over the years...
Golf I love golf. Plain and simple. And I need a place to blog about it...

It has been a while

It has been quite a while since I have posted to this blog. Actually it has been because I have been very heavily into my first hobby, golf. This season I managed to get in over 60 rounds of golf on nearly 20 courses and drop my handicap down to 7.3. As the golf season winds down it is time to pick up the heli once again and see if I can get some flight time in once again as I mostly had it sit on the bench all summer long

I know, I know.... Summer is when the weather is nice and...

Posted 03-29-2008 at 12:39 AM by TGibe (The Grass Is Brown Everywhere)

This falls under the category "And now for something completely different". (Please see my gallery for more Photos of my cart mod)

Last fall I purchased the electric version of Sun Mountain's Speed Cart.

For non-golfers the Speed Cart is a three wheeled push cart to carry your golf clubs. It rolls very easily and is extremely stable. Drive by any golf course where people actually walk and...

Posted 02-28-2008 at 11:27 AM by TGibe (The Grass Is Brown Everywhere)

Taking a 3-day golf trip this weekend with 15 others to Bandon Dunes leaving Seattle at 4am tomorrow morning .

We will be playing Mallard Creek in Lebanon, OR on Friday on the way down to Bandon. Then Saturday and Sunday we have mid-morning tee times for Bandon Dunes and Pacific Dunes before heading back Sunday night.

It is a great way to start the golf Season here in the Northwest.

Shot an 81 (42/39) first round of the season

Felt good to get back out on the course... As usual no real expectations so I was please with a 42 (+6) on the front. Started the back with a double-bogey and then ripped off 6 pars in a row before a 3-putt bogey on the 17th. A par on 18 made for an 81 (+9)...

Not too shabby after a 4-month layoff...

I am heading down to Bandon Dunes at the end of the month with 15 members of our men's club for 3 round on the coast. Can't wait...

Waiting for the frost to subside so that I can get my first round of golf in today...

Maybe I should have gone to the driving range at least once over the past 4 months?
