jrman83 If you go to the Goblin 280 forum and look at the battery thread. It appears that a few different packs are coming out for the 6s Fireball. The 280 is essentially the same size at the 270 and I would think the packs would be compatible. Worth looking at anyway. I wouldn't want e-flite packs either.

Nee #1 Gens Ace has a 1050mAh 6s that is very close in size and weight to the eflight comes with the ec3 connector and is only $18.xx available from their website with 10% discount to sign up to news letter I have mine on the way now...

crsorrell0653 You can get a Hyperion 1700mah in these by facing the leads backwards and moving the canopy holes rearwards by 10mm. Same size as a Gens Ace 1200, but lighter. I have posted pictures in previous posts.

ssschmidt4 It's sad this heli does not accomodate other batteries! It's a sweet flying bird!!

Very impressed so far with the ReadyMadeRC batteries. Four flights in and I've noticed no appreciable power difference compared to the Pulse 1050mAh 6S in moderate to hard 3D. Noticeably more power than the EFlite batteries, particularly in 35-40 degree F temps.

Only issue is size preventing the canopy from being fitted, though in that respect their neon orange color makes the 270 a lot more visible without the canopy than the green Pulses.

Or is there a better battery to go with?

jrman83 What I have found with EC3 is the male pin will expand slightly if exposed to high heat for very long. Kind of hard to keep from happening since the bullets need high heat, but I sink the pin in a very tight hole in a 2X4 while soldering and it keeps this from occurring. Same thing can happen to EC5.

Maybe try and redo your ESC connection? Easy way to check is to take a spare unused male pin and stick in the battery connection and see how tight it is without having been exposed to any heat yet.

JonJet An o-ring plier of the "outie" version will make separating the EC3 connector simple with no damage...

Local hardware store or Harbor Freight

Inverted Hokie I'm stuck with E-flite b/c I bought 5 of them. Only thing I can say is the EC3 connectors are not very user friendly. Got to jam the crap out of them to make sure the male and female parts are together fully. Hard to remove too! I use some silicon grease in the connectors, so this helps somewhat. I also use it on the motor lead connectors as it's easy to hoze up the shrink tubing if you disconnect.

Wait a minute am I reading this right? You don't want to add another set of holes in the canopy but you're going to cut the frame??

Second set of gromet holes in the can aren't that noticeable once you put the gromets in. Can even use a light colored gromet you can make any color or leave light so they're hardly visible at all. Just a thought

That thing is "yuuuge"...
I bet it you don't have to add weights to the front now. I had to add some weights due to slight tail heavy issue. 230s is that way also.

Glad it works for you.

crsorrell0653 I've been using Gens Ace 1200mah. Requires the canopy holes to be re-positioned about 10mm rearward, the leads can stick out the top and be joined after the canopy is fixed - works well. I have since found some Hyperion 1700mah ones the same size as the Gens Ace but lighter. HP-HV80C1700S6- these are good for the 360 as well.
