Mercuriell Interesting stuff Lee - maybe you should start a thread in Off-Topics. I've got to the age where I can't stop the tide coming in so I try to ignore the BS and look forward to the next heli-flying session.

JesusFreak Back to governors (vs. Governance):

Anyone had much experience with the Thunder Tiger Alpha Zero governor? It's only $89.00 us retails and seems to be relatively straight forward. Works off the fan/engine RPM.

(FYI, that "little bit" of socialism, is quite expensive, but we are clearly headed in that direction here in the US). 60K before taxes is quite misleading. Look at the spending power AFTER taxes. I will agree, our Medical and Educational costs are escalating out of control here, but I don't believe the best solution is to turn it into a government monopoly.

Personally, I think Health Care _BENEFITS_ should be outlawed. Catastrophic health INSURANCE is OK, but we have long abandoned "insurance" in the US Healthcare system. When every bottle of drugs you take and every visit to the doctor is covered, it is not insurance. It "feels" good, but every dollar YOU pay for your health care benefits is now run through either a private or public bureacracy. (If you think you are getting it for free, you are a dumb dumb). Guess what, they are going to keep a good part of EVERY dollar that runs through that system. You don't think someone else is paying for those beautiful office and government buildings, computer systems, clerks, actuaries, billing and check issuance departments, etc. do you? Do you even bother to "shop" for a doctor anymore or make sure you really need what they recommend? Nope! It's "free", so why bother.

But I'm just an actuarial analyst, so I have odd opinions on this stuff. ;-) Common sense is not very common any more, and these "institutions" are quite happy skimming dollars off the top of what you pay your doctor to help you blow your nose. The private business and government are in collusion on this, and it is doubtful the problem will ever be corrected, as it is just too politically incorrect. And my job in this mess is a consultant. Like a stock broker, I don't care what they do, I make my fees no matter which way the wind is blowing because the public has been too shnuckered to take the system apart. They have you answering the WRONG question. How do we "fix" the system? The question should be why do we have this "system" at all?

Ah well, that's why I like flying Helis. You can't think about this B.S. while your flying. LOL.

Cheers!
Lee

300 Dollars? USD? the GV-1 here in the states is only $165.00 ??? i haven't used any other but i was thinking of getting the Throttle Jockey... what is the easiest out of all these ?
Yes, prices are insane in Denmark

If you buy direct from the US you have to pay 25% VAT and around 5% toll. Of the total amount (Price, plus shipping..) So quickly a imported one would be around 250 USD
Gotta love that socialism.
LOL... dont think you know much about Denmark...

Well we do have a mild degree of socialism, not much different than yours. You may be able to live a bit better without a job than in the states, and all medical expences are covered by the state. Everyone can get a free "medium" education, and 6 years (i belive... +-) higher education. In the time while studying you get a small "wellfare" called SU. Thats about all the socialism we got

Then again, we only got 3,7% of the working force unemployed.

10% of the citizens in Denmark earn mere than 60.000USD a year before taxes.

gordohigh My first nitro build, and the multi gov was a very easy gov to program. I had a few questions and Bob was quick to respond to my email. My vote is for the multi gov.

Azlum My Multigov is in the mail, on its way to me

I'll let everyone know how it performs.

Ticidytoc Revmax, small, light, and will handle 8.4v
06-06-2007 09:30 PM
creightoncarr My vote for the RevMax as well. It may not be as slick as the mutligov which has the lcd to program, but setup is still a cinch and the performance is great.

Jason Bell TJ Revmax, I had a ATG in my other helis, and I can say, this is alot simpler than the ATG. I love it!! Seems to keep up even better as well  But anything is better than the Gv-1 which I had a long time ago

Present governor practice?

Another topical issue - Governors - might be good to feed back to the masses what is current practice - so for those of you actually flying the 600N - ie not just fawning over it on the work bench - how many have fitted a governor and which one ?
