Default How many people still flying the Xxtreme?

I just flew a logo 700 xxtreme for the first time today. what a machine. wish i would have gotten one back when they were still popular. Seems like parts are still out there but stuff like canopies are almost non existent. Do you think this heli will get phased out because of the newer logo 700?

i own 2 of them-they are my favorite heli--the sound and presence in the air is second to none.. but i am afraid of damaging because of the lack of things like the canopy --the new 700 is very nice but i like the beefy head and carbon frame..

I have no doubt the new 700 flies incredible. But the xxtreme has it's own personality.

Default Plastic??

So the newer ones have plastic frames?

I don't get that... i love Carbon Fiber frames. I was thinking about getting a Logo 550 later but it seems to have a plastic frame. Ew.

The plastic is half the magic on the 550!

Actually, plastic frames are the magic of the logos.

I have 2 flying n another NIB. They are probably the largest 700 out there, my Friend kept mistaken them for my 800.

Default question

Why are the plastic frames chosen? Dampens vibration and less of an electrical wiring issue?

I noticed the Logo 700 seems very popular. It is often featured in simulators and videos... is the plastic frame 700 pretty much the standard?

(I snagged me a used 480 Xxtreme and it is absolutely gorgeous. I want a 550 later)

I am not sure of the advantages of using plastics, but a friend had to rekit after his crash and according to him wasn't a hard crash. Everything that was plastic broke.

I have both, beside the choice of material the newer logo is narrower and flies faster for sure. It takes more effort to move around the older xxtreme.

The Mikado Extreme 700 and 800 canopy's are easily ordered from these guys. I have had several of there canopy's and they are excellent.

I like the old one as much as the new logo. But I think the xxtreme would look nicer with shorter boom. Probably would consider cutting the boom shorter for my NIB kit.
