Default T-Rex 250 Fly's :)

Hi all,
thought you might like to see what i have been upto the last few days,
been testing and playing with pack sizes.

I have moved my canopy forwards a littel "its easy see pics" although the packs fit without this there very tight, so i opted for this simple solution.

its early days but i have tryed two packs so far >

revo 750 @ 69g's with deans & velcro 65x34x17 "fine if you mount esp up front and want it very lite.

revo 950 @ 98g's with deans & velcro 70x34x20 "think this is gona be my choice for the extra power and flight times, esc needs to be on the side to get the balance very close, "very slightly nose heavy"

ideal weight would be around 80/85g's
anyway heres some pics im gona go fly it

>>>

oh i forgot to say, i friking love this modle so much fun, money well spent !!

Where did you find the lipo pack, and what is the brand/specs?
Thanks!

Thanks for the post and info on the Revolectix packs! I had been wondering if either of these two packs would be suitable, Revo rocks!

Are you saying that the cellpro 10S shows 20% when you hit start to charge or is it saying 0%?

If it is showing 20% when you hit start to charge then you should be able to squeeze another min or so out of that pack. The 20% represents what you have left in the pack before you hit the 80% mark, so essentially you had 40% left in your pack. Look at your final mah in the end to calculate this better and verify what the charger is showing. For example I fly my Trex 500 packs (6s 2500mah) to about 7% left (as read on a cellpro 10S) and put back in 1800 mah. This yield 1800/2500 = 72% used. According to the cellpro 10S I had 7% left to fly plus the 20% standard to give around 27% left. My final mah showed I had 28% left in the pack. Pretty good for what I need.

Wow. That's a very clean install. Either you have very small fingers or you're very patient. Great job.

Very nice build, arky! Very clean and well done.

I'm building my own with exactly the same components (except for the lipos, I'll be using the Align 3s 850mahs).

Since you're using the same tail servo / gyro combo that I'm using, can you tell me what the measurement is on your tail servo between the ball and the pivot point (linkage screw)? I'm not sure where to put mine for optimum effect.

Thanks.

You shouldn't use the % as indicators. Use the final mah count to get the amount of time you can fly. The % is determinted from a look up table based on how the pack reacts to the charge. New lipo tech or different brands of lipo changed the curve, so the table is not accurate.

The low cost of repair is really tempting. I was all set to get back in the game with a 500, now I can't decide.

Arky,

Did you use all the default settings in the ESC? Or did you modify any of them?
Thanks! Nice work.

After a 7 hour build I got my first flight in. Head is still a little to tight. Its windy here (15 gust 30) so I only hovered and FF in my yard. I'll wait untill I can get spare parts or at least better wind to 3d it.

Battery -TP 1320 (yes it does fit and c.g. is right on)
Flight time-10min (about half normal and half idle 1)
Temps-air:62f
bat:95f
motor:82f(wow!!!)
Charge-892ma back in

ITS A KEEPER!!!

wow, 1320 is a great mAh if cog is good. you might see 15 minute flight times if you take it easy.

I'll go for 15min this afternoon. My head speed is set very low in normal mode(good for in doors). I'll try to get a RPM reading.

Hi jeffsw

I have tryed all the options as i have been chasing a bounce on fast left stops i have it much bettet now but not fixed yet will report back i have a few more things to try.

but i have the gyro end points set at 100 - 100 and the servo ball at its innermost position as this seem to give best resauts atm the gain is adjusted via the gear channel atv's -30 for hh and +30 for rate any higher and it wags, In the Spartan Program i have reduced the deceleration profile to slow & counter clockwisestop stop gain to 50, its improved but the bounce has not stopped fully, will try reducing the accleration profile see what that dose tommorow can't hurt
