Default OMP Hobby M1 - A Trex 150X Competitor

Following the successful launch of the M2, OMPHobby is due to release the M1 around late July/early Aug. I have been told by Hawk-RC that is a direct competitor to the Trex 150X with blade length of around 115mm. It is likely to have a direct drive motor and possibly MG servos. The price will be competitive against that of the 150X. No pictures of the heli are available yet.

Sweet. I think parts for the 150X are drying up so having another choice that performs well on that size is good news. The OMP line of helis seem to be gaining steam and that's great for the hobby as smaller and cheaper helis can help people get in or get a quick backyard fix.

Yep, agreed. I think the smaller size classes are going to be the future of this hobby for a lot of people. A lot of people aren't going to want to run a regulatory gauntlet just to enjoy flying a model helicopter. So, perfecting the under 250-gram size-class is essential. I mean, in my opinion.

Only one picture has been released today. It will be sold at $209 with metal geared plastic case servos. The first batch will be available for Chinese vendors only on 15th August.

if it comes with the metal swash and grips for $209 that is going to be sweet. I am sure it will fly well.
