Default 2 small bottles?

Hi, I have received the small upgrade kit and it contains two small containers labeled E and H. Should I mix them before applying to the plates and transistors? Or should I use them separate for something?
Thanks,
Petru

You get the plates and everything ready. Then like Epoxy you mix them together in equal amounts, apply them to the surfaces and then clmap evertyhing together. At room temp it takes 24 hrs for the stuff to dry.

Thanks.
I have mixed them together anyway.
I couldn't wait and took it to a test flight (half hour  ). It is slightly over ambient temperature.
This mod works great.
By tomorow I hope it's dry and will get even better
Thank you,
Petru

Woa... 30 minutes! I am suprised the parts arent sliding around?
Maybe you heat shrinked the assembly well enough....

Mmm, nope, no sliding. But I don't have much vibrations so I don't see why would slide. The heat shrink tubing was not too tight.

Oh, I have the ESC horisontal with the heatsink on top so it was quite stable.
By the way, before the mod, both ESC and motor would run very hot after just 3-4 min (especially the motor, you could burn by tuching it too hard). default Align motor, 25A esc, 13 t pinion, 1800 maH, 90% throtle max, 10 pitch max. Now, after the mod I'm very happy: ESC allmost to ambient temperature, motor much cooler than before, but still a little hot.

Petru,

To all who might be needing to order an epoxy and heat shrink kit.

I'm leaving on family vacation this afternoon, Saturday, July 15th and won't be back until Tuesday, July 25th.

During this time, I won't be able to ship any kits. I'm VERY sorry for any inconvenience this may create.

If you have an order placed at this time, they have all been filled, shipped and are already on the way.

All orders that I have as of Tuesday night have been shipped.

Default ESC semi-mod

Idid half a mod on my ESC. See my gallery. I cut along the along the shorter sides of the heat sink with a razor knife. I then removed it and the sticky tape from it. Move in about 3/16 inch on the longer sides and cut carefully through the shrink. I applied heat sink cmpd. then pulled the flaps up the sides of the sink and CA'ed them . Final product has two 4" ty-wraps to hold pressure on the two parts. Runs much cooler and way easy!

Anyone cut open an Align 75 yet? I think it's 75; it's the one that ships with the TREX 600. It's "all shrink" externally.

Cool (uh oh! Bad pun!) can't wait... mine is hitting similar temps and I'm a little concerned.

Only if you go flying in the rain.........
You can supply a new shrinkwrap around the ESC and cut out the cooling ribs.

Another fliers had modded his ESC on his BL Tribute, not sure how heat transfer would be using metallic type JB Weld..? Run cooler than before on Eflite 400 B/L.

Here is the same stuff, at a cheaper price if you want a bunch:

http://shop.willyselectronics.com/browse.cfm/4,350.html

It is speced at a thermal conductivity of 0.682 W/m*K

The Artic Silver adhesive can be found for between $10 - $15 for 26 grams and is speced at 7.5 W/m*K

A few things. Thanks Blake.

A couple of questions. I guess that a bit on the pins of the stuff that Balke ships is OK?

Second, do you also glue the Al plate to the transistors? I would think so, my plate had a bit of stickum attching it to the transistors.

Do be careful if you buy the thermal epoxy elsewhere. I was at a local electronics supplier and saw thermal conductive epoxy, glad I read the package, it is also ELECTRICALLY conductive. NOT good.

Looking around aArtic has two products. Artic Silver and Artic Alumina. I saw that the Alumina version is non-conductive, but slightly capacitive. Not sure about the Silver version.

Lastly, good thing I ordered two pieces of shrink from Blake. Fisrt thing I did today was to cut teh shirnk off the ESC< and while wondering why it didn't look like the ones in th pictures (no EME shield) realized I had just opened up my E-Flite 40A ESC for my Mini Ultra Stick. Oops. No big deal, it is re-heat shrinked (shrunk?) with my "extra" piece.
