The 2009 LA3D Classic Heli Fun Fly promises to be an outstanding event with participation from the industry’s top pilots and the hobby’s great vendors. The Valley Flyers have hosted many successful heli events in the past and this year looks to be Southern California’s biggest event yet! The Event is now held October 9th – 11th 2009.

LA3D would like to invite EVERYONE!! The Apollo XI Airfield is the best RC Flying Facility on the West Coast. It offers plenty of parking, including overnight RV spaces for those who would like stay with us over the duration of the weekend. The Valley Flyers will provide food concessions and there are onsite restroom facilities. For the spectator, the action is never “far” from sight.


This year the organizers welcome participation from all hobby enthusiasts. We would love to have all from amateur to pro pilots and all spectators! Photo and video enthusiasts are welcome as we will have some of the most spectacular RC helicopter flying and model displays on the West Coast.


So fire up those helis! Bring Nitro! Bring Batteries! Bring Jet Fuel! Get ready for a fun extravaganza of 3D, Sport, Turbine and Scale RC Heli flying! We are working hard to make this a fun entertaining event that you and the family can enjoy!

Yes!!! We had a turbine heli demo last year. We also have a local flyer who just aquired a JetCopter SX. Those things are SICK!!! :-) We would love to have you join us! Please let others know and put us on your calendar.

Hey guys, by any chance can the concrete circles be changed to grass? Its alot easier on crashes and safer for onlookers.

The circles have been there forever... It is the staple of our heli field.. I agree there is an added security "feeling" over the grass.. The concrete just makes you fly better :-) The great thing about the field is the mix of flying from electric to turbine... We have a huge field. What's great is the 3 days we get to have the entire field for heli flying. Try to come and stay at the field. The days are great and the nights are fun! Music, video, food and night time smackdowns!
