Default IRCHA ...looking for a few good Volunteers...

and students too!

Concept is this: Heli-Clinic.
Got a question or want more details on "Why & how do you do that?".
We are here to help.
Have a heli that's just keeping you down and want someone to give you a hand at checking the setup?
We are here to help.

At Site 3 we have designated hover-only areas for those not quite ready for the "prime-time 200x 200 boxes" that Site 4 offers.
http://www.ircha.org/index.php?pr=2010_Jamboree

We also have tents, tables & chairs available to sit down and help setup birds with our fellow Heli-Brotheren.

What I'm asking for:
We need volunteers that are willing to help a stranger setup what ever bird they bring, to the best of our abilities, and help them along in the hobby.

We did this in 2009 for Thursday & Friday and had some nice success. This year we are looking to step it up but we need more man-power to take it to the next level.

The vision is to have 3-4 "instructors" on hand between 10AM & 4PM to help students. Maybe split it into 3-hour shifts - unless you are up for the entire 6 hours (you'll be beat -but it's fun, rewarding work).

I'd like to use the second tent to set a schedule for seminars: (for example)
X-o-clock the topic is:
Blade and Paddle Selection
Tools needed to Build
Flight Modes/Conditions
Pitch & Throttle Curves
Gyro Setup
Swash Setup
And the list goes ON!

IRCHA 2010 is approaching and there are helis & pilots that want some help, if you have a desire to help and enjoy that grin on someones' face when they get a taste of success, give me a PM.

thanks for your time,
Gus

P.S. Site #3 is a bit quieter
Plans for an FAI flight-line(s) (AKA big sky moves)
Shuttle bus running between sites
Real bathrooms within walking distance...or the Honey-Pot...your choice!

What state / country is it in? Search the website and can't find it.

Found it: Muncie, Indiana. Maybe more people would go if they listed the location on the website.

Assuming I'm still employed in August and get my lodging squared away, I'm in.

I plan to stay on site this year so I should be able to volunteer some of my time. Any time except Friday afternoon and Friday night.

Is there any chance we could schedule a HF group photo this year?

I am trying to schedule my defense before IRCHA so i can make it down, but it's out of my hands. If i am able to make it down to IRCHA i would love an opportunity to put on a Seminar; perhaps do a Q&A on electronics used in RC helis ? Regardless, if they want me to do something i suspect i will spend most of IRCHA doing setups at the Outrage tent

I could use a "guru" on motors, speed controls, bats ...pro/cons gov vs. flat line throttle curve...etc.

I'm nitro all the way. I can get through an electric setup as long as all the manuals are there and I have enough time.

Seminar wise...I'm hoping to have a 42" plasma display connected to a DVD & Lap-top/tablet so if you have some pre-recorded video, PDFs, graphs etc to help explain. Sounds like you might very well be the "local expert" for this portion (and a few other topics)!

Having a Plasma screen would help alot, would mean i wouldn't have to redraw these figures. A white board with some grease markers might be a thought too.

IRCHA was held well over a month before that, and even the "wow that was awesome" threads dried up in a couple weeks. If you're not buying heli magazines, it's easy to miss out on the whole IRCHA thing. I had to google it last year too. It's easy to assume everyone knows stuff, but the first year of any major hobby has a dizzying amount of information overload.

Maybe the confusion is in the non-ISO ordering of the date field? That join date is October Fifth, not the Tenth of May. ISO standards suggests the largest unit of time first, so things sort easier. YYYY-MM-DD HH:MM:SS.
