Default Hitec HS5625 servos? Good or Bad?

Good or bad? I am planning on running them on 6volts!

If you want long service life and fast reversal, get a servo that has non metal gears (exception of titanium gears) and a coreless motor.

Coreless motored servos with same speed rating will be faster on turn around than the one with std motor.

For this reason, I would suggest getting 6965, 6975, and 6985 instead of 5625.

I use 5625 on 27% 3d aerobatic airplanes and they do develop backlash. It is true that Karbonite gears will strip easier on crash but they do not under normal flying.
The developed backlash is less critical on airplanes than helis.

I had heard that the 6000 series are not good for helis and that they strip easily? Since you all arnt having any problems with them I will take a look. Thanks

Stripping during flight. I was also told Hitec does not recomend the 6000 series for helis.

5625s installed on my T-Rex 600, no issues so far through more than twenty-five flights.

Nope never striped one in flight and I think I have stripped a total of 2 in like 10 crashes or something like that. and the gear sets are 10 bucks. I fly pretty hard 3d and I have yet to strip one out. They fly great

You might want to check your sources again as Hitec advertizes 6xxx series as heli servos in recent ads.

In all cases, servo gears will withstand more load than specified servo torque rating. What that means is that servos will be stalled before the gears strip. Only time the load will actually be great enough during flight is when control surface causes flutter (violent shake) in fixed wing. A violent rotor wobble would be the heli counterpart to flutter. In this case, I actually would prefer if the servo gears went instead of rest of system taking the hit.

I never know whether my sources are correct! Thats the reason for the questions :wink: Seems that almost everyone favors the futaba s9252's maybe I should just go with the tried and futaba true servo.
