It hasn't been a problem with JR. 72Mhz radios balance fine with the antenna out. I even run the JR baseload antenna on my 9303 and that's fine also.

The problem is, Spektrum reused the JR plastic molds to make the DX6 and DX7. Designed for 72mhz. With the short plastic antenna, balance is too far "aft".

Here is another easy option.

I used a velcro dot stuck to the bottom on the radio and the other matching bit of velcro attached to a small strap.
I can adjust the angle of the radio by adjusting the length of the small strap.

I just dont use a neckstrap. :?

I also run the new DX7- ION pack produced by RODNEYCORP. which is a little bit lighter and helps in the balance.

16 hours of 2.4 fun on 1 single charge. It's like flying for 1 month without charging.

Believe it or not: I use a modified cupboard door handle!
It's stainless steel, has the right diameter and thread size, and I didn't need to bend it. Perfect!

I attempted the mod that Bob posted a picture of. As straight forward as it may seem it is quite the opposite. It requires extensive disassembly of the radio which I started to do but then it occured to me by doing the modification I would be voiding my warranty. I don't anticipate something going bad on the radio but you never know, instead I opted for the .47 cent eyebolt mod and what a night and day difference. Incidentally as a result I scratched the outside of the lcd facia cover, the next day I called Horizon to order one and they told me they don't sell internal parts, I would have to send the radio in, after asking for to speak to the manager for an explaination of policy, they opted to sell me one for 5.00 and I received it the next day! The facia panel sticks to the case from the front, easy to replace.

I milled it manually on-the-fly with a CNC using 0.5" ball endmill and drill. Took about 10 min. total. If I had to program it, it would have taken 1 hr. +, but I could have made a lot more.

Gimbal Stick Ends. You can get extensions also.

JR ends will also fit Spektrum.

rpengfer ..... $13.99 and it's adjustable. I think Spektrum has been doing some great things for the DX line. AR6100e (end pins) and AR6200 (full range mini with satellite Rx like the AR7000). :glasses2:

I like that setup! What parts do I need to make that work? Just solder it to the switch wires.
