Talking Walkera 4F180 question

Hi! I'm new to rc helicopters. I recently bought a Walkera 4F180 flybarless 4 bladed heli.
I have it set up pretty well. Hovers great. My problem is that when in a hover, and I move the rudder to the right, the heli wants to move forward. when I rudder left, the heli wants to slide backward. I have to make slight corrections with the elevator to be able to rotate in hover. Is this normal? If not, how can I correct the problem.

The heli will move about a little once you input from your hover position. Before you flew the heli did you check the servo function in that ELEV inputs the rear servo and AILE the the right side servo? Also make sure your throttle trim is all the way down before binding with this heli or the gyro function will play up.

Yup, perfectly normal for a single rotor heli. You will note that in hover the tail is slightly tilted from vertical, it is also not (usually) in line with the heli's centre of gravity. These two effects mean that changing the thrust from the tail (rudder) will cause the heli to tilt as well as rotate.

This is exacerbated by the fact that the 4F180 is FBL (a flybar compensates to some extent) and the WK FBL systems do not feature any kind of piro compensation like the more expensive models do. You will just need to get used to it.

All the servos are right. The heli flies okay. It's just that when I make a right rudder turn, the heli wants to move forward a bit while it is turning. While rotating left, it tends to back slide a bit. I have to give slight elevator input to keep it stationary while turning to keep it in place.

Thanks for your input. That is kind of what I figured it was. I am getting used to it.

Same behavior on v100d01. To be honest too much tilt and rotate on this tiny model....
