Default Home Made AV Canopy

Well it turns out my guess worked out just right. This is my idea for a rigid platform to mount the camera right side up. My guess about the reliefs in the corners worked just right for blade clearance. I'll have it finished up by tomorrows flight time.

This is the bottom of a Rubbermaid kitchen container BTW

Cam velcros to the top, still deciding on mounting the canopy between a couple of different ideas.

Do you have a picture of the container before it was cut up, so I can find it at the store?

I like the fit, and the way it seem to almost belong on there. I think I will make one for an AV platform of my own.

i use a small plastic container monted to the bottom of my mqx for my camera. it gives it a lower center of gravity and makes it a little more stable in the air with the weight of the camera below the blades. the camera is still right side up, i just had to cut a hole in the front of the plastic so the camera can see out. i turn my camera on then snap it onto the bottom the same way that the stock canopy attaches. works like a charm!
