The first link talks about the feathering spindle, mine has some play but when I tried to tighten the screw it was already tight.

Should I take it apart and add some shims of some sort to get rid of the play?

Not necessary, but a few people shave a tiny tiny amount off the Phillips side end of the the spindle to get rid of play.

Got this heli as a gift, so a DX4i is all there is.
How do I set 0 pitch with this Tx, if it can be set at all.

Center the stick and the trim on the TX, then adjust the ball links going from the servos to the swash plate.

make sure you turn all 3 ball links the same amount, also the ball links only go on in one direction so make all adjustments in full turn increments.

Afterwards, folding the blades backwards will tell me if 0 is set right, like in the vid ?

Yes but the stock blades don't really fold all the way back, I actually ground my blades down a little where they hit the grip so they could fold all the way back in a crash.

3 upward turns of the pitch servo and it practically flies by itself even with a DX4e,
yea it flies great.

Small crash, changed the link from the swash to the blade-grip.
Now upon spool-up pitch servo raises, aile servo drops and the swash stays that way.



Point of interest : Tab trims on the DX4e are easely moved, please be advised when servos act up,
check trims.

Let it be known that a few of us are compiling some setup tips to use with the DX4E to have a great time with the stock radio out of the box!

We are doing more work on it as we speak and will add more later.

We have it working great with the "M5" motor and "ebay brushless combo" soldered together and set up, and also found more receivers to use with it.

Not sure if anyone has done this yet....

I got sick of the play in my grips. I figured it was caused by the feathering shaft being to long. So I squished my blade grips together tight to the head. Then I stuck my digital calipers in and took a reading of the distance between the grips while tight. Then I pushed the zero button on my calipers while open to the tight measurement. Then I removed the pressure pushing the blade grips tight and pushed the calipers open to get the distance of just how much longer my feathering shaft was. Turns out .25mm is too much. Because after I filed .25mm off the feathering shaft the heli holds a no hands hover like a champ.

I will assume you filed it off the 'screw' end of the spindle?

LOL unless you want to throw a blade it is the only way to do it.

Just got an mCPX2 yesterday to learn CPs with. I am a newbie all the way. I'm currently flying an mCX2 OK, and working on an mQX with SOME success.

I'll likely use a combination of formal lessons, mainly the ones on http://www.rchelicopterfun.com, in addition to the information here.

Are there any points I should know about the V2 outside the links in the forum?

if you are coming from coaxial, I would highly reccomend izzamaudes "settings for beginners". you essentially pull the aileron and elevator travel all the way down to %30, which makes the response much more slow and controllable. I learned on a cp bird, but still found this to be helpful in learning the feel of the mcpx.
