I've ordered a Devo 10 Tx & would like to know what lipos are being used for the Devo radios.

I think I remember seeing a 7.4v 2s lipo.

Of course it is up to you and you've probably already considered the pro's and con's of the various options but, I would still like to make a case for not using LiPo.

Besides it not being the best idea to charge a LiPo in place within the TX, I think one reason I don't use them in a TX is that with LiPo, I have to be more concerned about the remaining charge if I don't use the TX for some period of time.

I know that it is unlikely that I will ever NOT use it every day but still...

Another reason, LiPo seem to work best in heavy but short term load applications where in a TX, the usage is more lower load but over longer periods of times.

For me, using NiMh works really well although all my older TXs use NiCd which has also worked out very well for me.

Again, up to you but if you don't have a strong compelling reason to use LiPo, maybe other options might be useful to consider as well.

I sen the logic using the nimh batts but the lipos are much more convenient to carry an extra or I can charge a lipo @the the field in 15 minutes.

Both NiMh and NiCd can be quick charged.

Guess that's true. I hadn't really thought about it. My preference is still the lipo & I found where Finless said Walkera recommended the stock Ufly S 2s 800 mah batt. Which it appears they've now marked up the price accordingly.
I may just get a 2s hyperion & solder a mini deans.

I use the 11.1 Volt from Wow:

It charged up in about an hour and a half and the battery meter on the radio has not even gone down one notch in over two weeks of daily use both flying and on the sim. (they recommend you charge it back up as soon as the meter does go down.)

It is also quite a bit lighter than 8 AAs.

I am very happy with it.

Note: You do need a 2-3 cell charger.
