Sounds like Friday then. If I don't get my tail issue out hoping someone familiar with the 7hv will be there.

What is the "official" event hotel/motel? There are two of us coming down from north Texas and we want to stay at the same place as everyone else.

There really isn't an "official" motel. I'll be at the Red Roof Inn. The closest will probably be in Manor, but I found the room prices to be a bit high.

Experience is something you gain only after you need it.
I wouldn't mind social media so much if it didn't involve people.

I think pitching a tent is allowed as well... lol... I don't think I will be doing that unless I can't find a room, I better see if I can reserve a room now...

Phil, That is a very cool Arial shot. Looks like we still have room for more pilots. Hope the weather is better next year, but despite the weather, it was a lot of fun.

Yeah, I think the wind scared people away more than anything. Flying in the wind was a challenge, but it was kinda fun because it's not something I typically do at my home field.

How many pilots ended up registering?

We still had 79 registered pilots. There are things you can still do with wind. One fun trick I do is try to do forward flips with the wind in front of the heli and try to keep the heli in one spot, hard to do, but when you do it, looks very cool.

I discovered that starting a loop traveling downwind can turn into a stall turn in that much wind. I didn't have enough pitch or headspeed to bring it over the top.

Default Weather

Oops...I posted this on the thread for the event last year...my bad.

So the forecast is available for next weekend. It's looking pretty good. Mostly sunny, warm but not too hot and fairly low winds. I hope it stays like this as the week progresses. I'm looking forward to seeing some real helifreakness next weekend.
