Default Axe CP 2.4 Questions

Hi

I have a brand new axe cp, 2.4 . But my question is when the heli is in the ground and i start giving it throttle and i try to turn the tail rotor stick to the left the heli does not do anything not even the motor turns to move the tail. When i turn it to the right or even slide the trim to the right it does turn the tail and the motor starts moving. Is this normal that only when in the air the tail does respond . I thought the tail should move either way in the ground when i turn the tail rotor stick. Are there any special setups for this heli?

Thanks

Electric tail rotor motor helicopters all turn nose-left by allowing the main rotor inertia to move the tail in the opposite direction of the main rotor. The tail rotor only blows one way, so on the ground it won't sense torque in the yaw axis, so the rotor won't turn until the helicopter spins up and gets light on the skids.

Default me too

i'm having some simular problems with my shop flyer i have the 200 fp novus and only had my 8th flight going and my tail rotor started slipping i was on line to find out myself about mine. but all my other heli's spin on throttle up and with a few rpm's you can actually turn the heli by moving the stick l or r without leaving the ground my simulator is the same way. but i'm thinking now ,there might be problems w/ these little birds. and they come with no build instructions , that would help !! speaking of that HELP finless bob you think he heard that .anyone else out there??

As you say, once the heli spools up and the skids get a little light, you can control the tail with inputs. If you can slide the heli around on smooth ground, like pavement, you should be able to control the tail. If not, the tail motor may be going. Unless you have messed with the settings recently, I would expect that to be the problem.

Sometimes a rough landing will bump and damage a tail motor. Also, many complain that the tail motors for this helicopter don't last very long.
