Default 300+ trouble free flights so far

Well I'm happy to say I have over 300 trouble free flights on my flybarred X5, without any issues to date. I think eventually I'm going to have to replace my TT gears. I oil the motor about every 20 flights. No issues! Flies as smooth as the day I got her two years ago!

I also have had luck for a while too, probably more than 200 flights with zero issues ,but today I madiened my yge 100

And it shut down on me not too high but not too low, I did a crappy auto , kind of like a hard landing, but its saved. I dont think I broke one part.

There was really no way to avoid this , I ran it on the bench. I spooled up on the ground and let it run unloaded, but as soon as I asked the esc for power it shut down.

I checked everything and reinstalled the hobby wing esc, took it up and it flew perfect.

I dont think I will ever sell my x5

The one I had before this one ran good for a while, then it started acting up. I sent it in , all the way to Germany. I got the bar version after a lot of trouble ,

I might be done with yge, I know a lot of people run them with zero issues, but with my luck , and only 1 distributor in the USA, and warrentys having to go to Germany which took a few months, I'm on the fence now, I can't decide if the way the esc runs is worth all this trouble.
Just mho though.

Default How to count?

I'm curious, do you guys run a log book? Or just average a certain number of flights a day or week?

my charger(linked to my pc thru usb) , keeps logs of my charges, and if i had a mishap i write down what happened.
also each pack has been marked everytime i fly

but just looking at the charge cycles from 14 packs, its not hard to see.

Hmmm, my YGE will arrive next week.
Bit off topic but which settings did you used for programming the YGE?

I really have no clue.
I don't log at all, just fly the bird.

I'm running the xera in mine, my pwm and timing will be diffrent.

I'm pretty sure my settings had nothing to do with it, I ran a yge on this exact same setup before. I even posted my settings in a video, I use the program card and they were correct for the motor I run.

That's all I can figure, the esc was brand new, it has a good reputation.

The esc still looks brand new, even the caps look good
And the hobby wing is back in and all is fine. I wish I had video of that auto, I'm the luckiest unlucky person around.

No error flashes from the ESC? it should have reported the reason for the shutdown.

no the esc was down for the count, no lights nothing

at first i thought maybe a fluke happened, but after i got her down i pulled the canopy off and looked for the lights, there were none.

and the second flight did the same but that time the esc would not rearm or even turn on. i put it to my nose and sure enough it smelled burned,

im still thinking about this, i was out yesterday, and man did this knock my confidence down alot, i went thru 4 packs and still didnt go full tilt on the hobby wing esc , on my 6th and 7th pcks i finally got my gutts back and pounded the x5 for all i could , the hobby wing didnt even break a sweat,

on my last pack #12, i did a full pack of tic tocs and rain bows, i mean full pitch throws and stick banging, trying to get her to bog, the heli was screaming for mercy ,
landned and the esc was at 116 and the motor 122,

its sad for me to think about getting the vbar for the gov , but im gonna do it soon

i want to wait and get a msh or spartan, but the wait is gonna be too long for this heli, my daily flier

All i can say is, you have terrible luck with expensive hardware, perhaps its better if you stick to the cheaper stuff. At least that seems to work perfectly for you

hmm, i know what your refering too, i think that is a whole diffrent case.

i feel bad for those other guys that still continue with "that" hardeware that clearly has

a serious issue. its funny how stuff here in the usa will get recalled and considered

unsafe, i guess someone has to die first, but it is being looked into.
