Default Battery too weak?

Guys that do hardcore 3D.. Question..

I was flying inverted today for the first time (about a 1 min stretch actually).

I tried on 2 occasions to do a inverted insane climb, which succeeded, but when I give full negative pitch inverted, the motor bogs like crazy.

I have 13.5 pitch both ways.

2850 rpm

6S 25C Gens Ace 2600MAh.

Is it too much for the motor or the battery? My telemetry was beeping mad during the maneuver.. Would a 55C Gens Ace be better suited or it wouldn't change a thing?

By the way, that thing is WICKED inverted. The sounnndddd.... Ahhhhhhhhhhh....

Stock YGE ESC? Stock Motor? Governor?

Never had a problem with mine on the stock power system.

25c, could be. Could be getting a little flat too. I know my 25c do not have near the punch and bog more than the 35c packs. I'm running 45c in my 400, and might be upping on the Protos soon too. Plus, I run 12* I used to run 13. but noticed it was really hard on a few packs, and my collective control was/is not all there, so limiting max pitch helps a bit the

I think it's the 13.5* of pitch. At 2850 rpm, with a pack at half capacity you don't have much overhead on the governor. I would dial down the pitch to 12* and test fly. If it still bogs, then your packs are going weak. After all, 25c means 65 amps, or 1443W at nominal voltage. That's the limit of the 880 kv motor.

Well, what brand are you guys running? Cause I know that the Gens Ace 25C shell out more power than my Zippy and Turnigy 45C packs (3S that is) Even though they are lower ratings.

I just wanted to have insane inverted power and was wondering if getting a gens Ace 60C battery would change it or the motor was the bottom neck...

Most of my packs are still Great Hobbies brand junk. 35c They don;t have the punch for sure my Voltz 35c does. ANd one Zippy pack thats slightly puffed, but still produces more than the GH

If you're planning to drag race your Protos, you'll probably need some setup changes as well as beefier lipos. For your general sports/light 3D, the stock setup and Gens 2600 6s 25c are more than capable.

Not drag race, but wanted to do full pitch pull outs inverted just for the insane sound it makes.

Again, was wondering if I put simply a higher "C" rating battery, if that would help with the bogging or not..

Not wanting to change ESC, motor or anything as it is plenty powerful for all I can do and much more.

It may have just been mine but i found the governor to be very slow in reaction to any hard 3D maneuvers such as hard tic tocs, climbouts, punch outs, hurricanes, transitions etc. It had a tough time maintaining the headspeed. I tried every setting on the program card and still same issue.

I went with Castle because i love the castelink software and can adjust so many parameters of the ESC such as Governor gain etc. It also has the Castle datalogging features. It also had the bail out function which i used extensively since the Protos was a very poor auto rotating helicopter since the belt just drags it down.

The Castle to me was a far superior ESC for the price and ease of use.
