Just use the kontronik gov!!! Set your flat curves according to you math, that im sure you have done. To get you headspeed perfecto....voila!!!! Best gov yet!!!!! All aside, vbar gov works great! I think the kontronic is just as good. Easier to set up. Why even bother with the vbar gov if you have a kontronic?

I agree when you have jive use the internal gov, vbar gov is for el cheapos like fusionhawk, hobbywing etc. I use both and in true honesty prefer the jive, less overspeed easier setup less hassle. Just make sure you have enough headroom on jive and you'll be a happy chappy! Don't always believe everything people say, try for yourself and reach your own conclusion, the placebo effect, hype, brand loyalty etc has some magical properties.......

Do not try with a 4525LE motor (your tagline), only combo I can say for certain is dangerous for the ESC.

I'm opposite to Stolla, I rather take Vbar governor regardless of ESC every day, much smoother (and I datalog EVERY flight with high speed loggers )

But when you overgear, and run more powerful motors the difference becomes small, at the cost of flighttime, if you r willing to pay that price, I guess it works, but you will get the tailkick for free.

That's the main reason I want to try a FBL gov - to get better tail performance under high collective pitch situations.

@MrMel
Have you ever fooled with the Skookum SK-720 gov?

So MrMel do you then recommend me to use the the Vbar as the governor controller for my helijive and the 4525?

Depends what you're after. If you're just going to fly sport and mild 3D, I'd recommend you use the Jive's internal gov. It's simpler to setup and it just works. If however you want to fly hard 3D, then it's worth it to setup the FBL gov.

Do NOT try mode 8 with 4525 as i write in the first line

@NRPY
Not SK but other external governors.
I will try other FBL solutions when they come (spartan etc) but this is the main reason why i do not try others right now.
For me the let down in performance is enough to make the overall impression be so low.
I.e, its no longer just testing the different fbl solution,
As sample, the XXtreme which is very powerful and feel light in the air feels actually
boring with reactive governor, with same gearing.

You shouldnt, as I say, that combo is not a good idea.
You have to have a Pyro motor for Kontronik to warrant it if something happens.

I have a Goblin 700 with the Heli Jive 120 and the Scorpion 4525 LE motor. I run governor (RPM Control via ProgDisc) at 2150 head speed. I have about 80 flights with no problems at all. On the other hand, I have a Trex 700E V2 with a Heli Jive 120 and a Quantum 4530 motor. I'm getting shutdowns with the Heli Jive and 8 blinks on the LED(over current protection). So MrMel is right about not using governor in the Heli Jive with a big powerful motor, but I have no problems with the Scorpion 4525 LE. So I don't really know what to tell you. But hopefully this helps you a bit.

Run mode 6 as it will give you a wider range of governing to even under 50 percent and add ksa mode afterwards, if you have the new ultimate le in yy winding ksa not necessary.
Keep in mind on jive its crucial to get enough headroom for gov to work well, usually you have to overgear, i.e. one pinion t larger so make sure you get your setup correct, then you will have an awesome combo.

Thank you Stolla, unfortunately I don't have the new LE . I am planning to use this combination on my Goblin 700, Do you think that the standard gearing is enoughf?

4525LE with HeliJive and stock 22t pulley with HS governed at 2150rpm with KSA mode enabled is awesome in the Goblin. Just run Mode 6 as Stolla has posted.

Stolla, you seem to be knowledgeable on mode 6.

I've set my helijive to mode 6, and lowered that p-point thingy value from 50% to 40% with the progdisk. My TX throttle figures for governing are between 39% and 49%

I have two questions.

Is what I have done correct?

And, what is that vernier figure that appears when setting the P-Value? - I set it at +/- 0%

What the KSA mode do ? or what is the benefit to have it enable? I check the description and it talks about "turbines"

That is the Hacker Turbine motors, not really "turbines" just a brand name! KSA is a dark secret, but for the "difficult" motors such as Align 700MX and the LE series of motors from Scorpion, basically alters the auto timing profile to better suit these motors.

KSA = Kontronik Special Application

I did not change anything on p and I just running default mode 6, why did you feel the need to change p value?
