Exclamation CX-3x1000 stopped connecting to computer

I spent the last couple hours with my heli mounted to a turn table trying to get the rudder dialed in as best as I could. All was going well until my computer just shut off out of the blue (it overheated ) and now I can't get the gyro to connect to the computer. The software loads fine, the gyro still seems to be working exactly as I last programmed it (though I won't test it in the air because I just set an option to one of the extremes to test its function) but it now won't connect. I'm using John nz's flybarless software and I've tried installing it on another computer as well to test and still it won't connect. When I click connect the 3 red circles have the one dark green one switching between them as if it's connecting but they never go bright green, and the usb interface has the blue light flashing each time so I think that's working fine. Does anypony have a clue what could be happening or how to fix it? I spent 2 hours getting the thing near perfect for this to happen

***Solved***
In case this should happen to anyone else, all I did was try and connect the gyro while using the original programming software and it happily connected. I then clicked the "all data reset" button and now it will connect to John nz's software again. Just make sure you save your configuration files so you don't have to redo everything.
